National Monitoring of Audience Engagement in Italian Opera Houses Gets Underway

The Teatro Grande in Brescia marks the launch of the national monitoring initiative promoted by the Committee for the Safeguarding of the Art of Italian Opera Singing, focusing on the audience engagement activities developed by opera houses across Italy.

Among the initiatives presented by the Teatro Grande is OPEN – Il Grande Accessibile, a project designed to encourage people with sensory and cognitive disabilities, as well as neurodivergent individuals, to participate in the Opera and Ballet Season. Another notable initiative is Festa dell’Opera, the annual event that brings opera free of charge to locations throughout the city, introducing new audiences to the operatic heritage.

The monitoring initiative was created to identify, promote and connect the experiences of Italian opera houses, encouraging the exchange of ideas and projects that support the continued vitality of the art of opera singing.

Our thanks to the Teatro Grande in Brescia for its availability and cooperation.
