National monitoring of audience engagement in Italian opera houses begins

The national monitoring program promoted by the Committee for the Safeguarding of the Art of Italian Opera Singing continues with the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo. The program was created to understand, promote, and network the experiences through which Italian opera houses are building an increasingly vibrant relationship with their audiences.

Among the experiences shared by the Teatro Sociale, a particular focus on training and engaging the younger generations stands out. Behind-the-scenes tours, introductory sessions, creative workshops, and programs for students and people with disabilities, including the recent creation of the Children's Choir, are offered. (a project in collaboration with the Rovigo Cultura Foundation), demonstrate the desire to make the theater not only a place of performance, but also a space for cultural, educational, and social growth.

Through initiatives like these, the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo helps make opera a living and shared heritage, capable of engaging with the community and audiences of today and tomorrow.
